I like the ambient, and kind of uneasy feeling to it all. It reminds me of a scary movie. I liked how you used the big piano hits towards the end, although a couple were a touch too loud. Overall I really liked this song. Great job.

I could see this being in a platformer. I like the fast paced rhythm. A couple parts lost me here in there (around the 0:30 mark), but then it picked back up again and I liked it. Overall I liked it and I think it has just enough variation to the rhythm and melody to keep it from being too boring. Nice Job.

Genclops responds:

Glad you enjoyed it, thanks for the review

Great song, but the vocals were very loud, at least during the 'verses'. The hook is incredible though.

This track is quite epic. I liked what you did with the percussion a lot. The choir might have been just a little bit too loud, but the choir was also awesome. lol Overall great track.

Nice Track. A couple thoughts on it (feel free to disregard these if you don't agree lol):

Liked:
1) I liked the composition of the song. It screamed rock, and it has a unique sound.
2) The solos were great. Some real skill there.
3) The vocalist can sing. I actually really like the vocals.

Disliked:
1) There was a ride, maybe a crash idk, but it was a bit too loud for me right around the 1:00 mark.
2) The vocals were also might have been a touch too loud in a couple parts.

All in all, i like the track. It's a style I like and I thought it was well written. Nice job.

Hey SmithBA. Thanks for taking the time to listen! I always keep my ears open for constructive critism: it helps me hear things I may have missed and improve the quality of my recordings.
I agree with your dislikes: the mix could use some work, no doubt. I am taking another stab at this song by re-recording it for an upcoming EP I am releasing. I'll actually have a recording engineer to help me out rather than trying to do it all myself! We'll see if I can do a better job!
Take care! Up the irons! \m/

Nice track! My thoughts on it (feel free to disregard these opinions if you disagree :p)

Pros:
1) I really like the laid back mood. I feel like the the acoustic guitar riff that comes in around 1:05 really fits the mood of the song.
2) The sounds you chose fit very well together. They compliment each other well. Nice job on that.

Cons:
1) It's a little repetitive. I kept wishing it would go somewhere. Maybe work on being a bit more progressive. Try out a new progression or be daring and go with a key change!
2) Although you have nice rhythms with the instruments alone, my ear kept wanting to hear some sort of percussion. Idk if you chose to leave percussion out of this particular track, if you did I understand that decision.

Overall I thought the song was fun to listen to. Good job on this track.

wolfshowl9 responds:

Awesome! Thanks. I appreciate the review and tips. :)
Have a good morrow.

Nice track. Well written and a nice mix. Just a little repetitive, but overall really good. Great job.

Hikari responds:

Thanks, I got a little stumped around the middle so that's probably why is a little 'loopy'.

This song is another one of my favorite pieces entered in the MAC. It's well written and the sounds you chose are awesome. The mix is really good. There's not much in this piece that I didn't like. You also get several bonus points for using Finale to compose the song. lol Really good job on this track.

samulis responds:

Hehe, thanks. Still could deal with a good bit of improvement as the other fellas have suggested, but other than that, it's a piece I'm fairly proud of, which is rare, tbh. Glad you like it. :)

There were a lot of great songs submitted in the MAC and this is one of my favorite ones. I don't wanna write a long review, but I thought the track was fantastic and wanted to let you know I enjoyed it. Great work.

Breed responds:

Much obliged.

Cheers!

Well, I don't listen to too much electronic music, but I'll give you some feedback on this track.

Pros:
1) I liked the varition in sounds you chose for this track.
2) The glitchy synth hook is well written and catchy.
3) This mix was pretty good. Maybe a little heavy in the low end in a couple spots, but overall good.
4) I liked several of the build-ups.
5) I liked the ending of the song.

Cons:
1) It's a little repetitive, maybe spend some time with that main hook and explore where that could go.
2) I didn't care much for the clap sample, but to each his own. I just felt it sounded a little flat.

Overall it was a pretty good track. I have respect for the electronic genre as a whole because I have no idea what you guys are doing. lol Nice Job. Keep up the good work.

EvilJellyMan990 responds:

Thanks for the kind words, it is true I did have a problem with making the song less repetitive. I couldn't get anything to fit with it. And the clap was just a standard ts808 clap so you probably heard it everywhere. Lol

Punk rock is awesome. I'm working on a project right now with a friend called Volcano Head Theory. We get accused of being too soft for punk music, but w/e. I make all kinds of music...but mostly punk. lol
